About the Game
You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building. Explore a massive cave system, collect treasures, solve puzzles, and survive the dangers of the Colossal Cave!
Essential Commands
Movement:north, south, east, west, up, down, in, out, go [direction]
Inspection:look (re-describes the current room), inventory (lists held items)
Interactions:take [item], drop [item], open [item], lock [item], unlock [item], on [item] (e.g. lamp), off [item]
System:suspend (saves game and exits), score (shows current score), quit (ends game)
Survival Tips
Map the Cave: The cave is a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. Write down your moves in the Player Notebook to avoid getting lost!
The Lamp: You will need light to explore dark parts of the cave. Make sure you turn on your lamp when in darkness. It has a limited battery life, so turn it off when you don't need it.
Dwarves: Be careful! Angry dwarves roam the lower cave levels throwing knives.
